Opawica Explorations has completed its first drilling phase at the Bazooka Property, revealing significant mineralization zones with high X-ray fluorescence (XRF) readings that suggest potential gold deposits in the Abitibi Gold Belt region.

Opawica Explorations Inc. has reported substantial findings from its 2025 exploration campaign at the Bazooka Property, revealing promising indicators of potential gold mineralization in the Abitibi Gold Belt region of Quebec.
During the first phase of drilling, the company completed 14 drill holes totaling 3,359 meters, with a notable intersection in drill hole OP-25-31. This hole revealed a broad 28-meter zone of geological features indicative of potential mineral deposits, including shearing, silicification, and quartz veining.
The exploration team documented significant XRF readings that suggest promising gold concentrations. One point XRF reading recorded an impressive 92 grams per tonne of gold, with arsenic levels ranging from 200 to 1,000 parts per million throughout the targeted zone.
CEO Blake Morgan expressed enthusiasm about the initial results, highlighting that approximately 7,000 meters of high-priority targets remain at the Bazooka Property and an additional 10,000 meters at the Arrowhead property. The team is currently awaiting comprehensive laboratory assays to validate the XRF readings and determine the precise mineral composition.
The drilling program involved meticulous sampling protocols, with core samples taken at intervals between 0.5 and 1.5 meters and split into two sections for thorough analysis. All 1,112 collected samples have been sent to ALS Chemex laboratory in Rouyn-Noranda for rigorous testing, including fire assays and ICP/OES analysis.
While XRF readings provide initial indications of mineral presence, the company emphasizes that certified laboratory assays are necessary to accurately quantify base and precious metal mineralization. The geological team, led by Qualified Person Yvan Bussieres, is maintaining a secure chain of custody for all samples to ensure data integrity.
The exploration results represent a potentially significant step for Opawica Explorations in developing its precious metals portfolio within the historically productive Abitibi Gold Belt. The company's strategic approach of targeted, methodical exploration could yield substantial insights into the region's mineral potential.
