Palm Beach Gardens and Royal Palm Beach Girl Scouts Earn Coveted Gold Award for Community Impact

Isabella Avallone, Marina DiMarzio, and Mailee Minitello, residents of Palm Beach Gardens and Royal Palm Beach, have achieved the Girl Scout Gold Award, the highest honor for Girl Scouts in grades nine through 12. Their projects, each addressing distinct community needs, demonstrate the profound impact young individuals can have on society.

Isabella Avallone's initiative, Fix Her, tackles the gender gap in the construction industry and equips teen girls with essential home repair skills through instructional videos and an Instagram platform. Her project not only fosters independence among young women but also challenges stereotypes in a male-dominated field.

Marina DiMarzio authored What Happened to Grandma?, a book designed to help children understand Alzheimer's disease and dementia. By simplifying complex medical information, DiMarzio's work has significantly improved children's comprehension of the disease, fostering empathy and stronger familial bonds.

Mailee Minitello launched Mind Your Faith: Creating the Bridge from Struggle to Success, a podcast and YouTube series aimed at addressing the mental health crisis among youth. Her faith-based platform offers stories of resilience and practical tools for mental well-being, providing a valuable resource for young people navigating challenges.
