Parent Coaching Institute Launches Technology Success Stories Initiative Featuring Parent Experiences

The Parent Coaching Institute has launched a new initiative called Technology Success Stories, where parents share their experiences and strategies for managing technology use with children through audio interviews. Gloria DeGaetano, CEO and founder of the institute, emphasizes the importance of parental voices in addressing technology issues, stating that every child and family is unique, and there is much to learn from one another's approaches to empowering children with healthy technology habits.

Within this resource, parents participate in audio interviews with DeGaetano, with brief summaries available on the website. The initiative aims to showcase parents of children across all ages and developmental stages. For example, one parent, Reem, shared her journey of realizing that excessive screen time for her 3-year-old contributed to behavioral issues, and she discovered effective alternatives through observation and parental instincts. Research is incorporated where possible to support parents' decisions, such as linking to data showing that more than four hours of daily screen time for babies and toddlers increases the risk of autistic symptoms, available at https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC10353901/.

Upcoming interviews will feature parents of teenagers and Tierney Boggs, a PCI Certified Parent Coach® and instructor. Boggs, author of a children's book at https://www.amazon.com/dp/1737854205 and a book for parents at https://www.amazon.com/dp/1737854213, will discuss how she and her husband adjusted screen time rules as their three children aged, reflecting on lessons about family values. DeGaetano highlights that this resource focuses on practical, real-world ideas from parents rather than expert mandates, noting that when busy parents find solutions for reducing screen time or addressing social media issues, others take notice.

The Parent Coaching Institute is recognized as an innovative leader in family support, offering a year-long, online Parent Coach Certification® program in affiliation with Southern New Hampshire University. This graduate-level training program enrolls family support professionals through an application process, with applications accepted for the 2026 Spring Term beginning in late February and a deadline of February 1.
