A Pittsburgh law firm's sponsorship of two local fundraisers highlights corporate support for animal welfare and outdoor recreation in the Mon Valley.

Pribanic & Pribanic, a Pittsburgh law firm, is sponsoring two community events this month in the White Oak and Mon Valley area: the Fido Food Truck Fest on Sept. 12 in White Oak and the Yough n Roll Bike Ride and Party on the Trail on Sept. 19 in Elizabeth Township. The sponsorships underscore the firm's commitment to the communities it serves and provide critical support for local organizations that rely on volunteers and donations.
The Fido Food Truck Fest is the fifth annual fundraiser for White Oak Animal Safe Haven, a no-kill animal shelter founded in 2003. The event runs from 2 to 6 p.m. at White Oak Volunteer Fire Department No. 1 and will include food trucks, basket raffles, a 50/50 raffle and mystery boxes. Last year's event raised about $10,000 to help fund the shelter's medical care, training, grooming and adoption programs. The shelter's no-kill mission means it does not euthanize animals for space or time limits, making fundraising events like this essential for its operations.
The Yough n Roll Bike Ride and Party on the Trail is organized by the Mon/Yough Trail Council, an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) organization with more than 500 members that maintains 15 miles of the Great Allegheny Passage. The 32nd annual event starts at Boston Riverfront Park and Rhino Memorial Field and offers 20- and 40-mile bike routes along the Youghiogheny River, along with a shorter Family Fun Ride for families. A community party follows the ride with music, local artists, historians, food, giveaways, children's games and representatives from area public safety agencies. Last year the trail hosted visitors from 48 states and 20 countries, and volunteers logged more than 5,000 hours maintaining the trail. Tim Banfield is the Mon/Yough Trail Council's contact for the event. More information is available at thebostontrail.com.
These sponsorships are significant because they support two organizations that serve the White Oak and Mon Valley community, from animal welfare to outdoor recreation along the Great Allegheny Passage. The Great Allegheny Passage is a major recreational asset that attracts visitors from across the country and around the world, contributing to local tourism and quality of life. The Mon/Yough Trail Council's volunteer efforts, including more than 5,000 hours logged last year, demonstrate the importance of community involvement in maintaining such resources. Similarly, the White Oak Animal Safe Haven provides a vital service by caring for animals in need, and the funds raised at the Fido Food Truck Fest directly support its medical care, training, grooming and adoption programs.
Pribanic & Pribanic's involvement highlights the role that local businesses can play in sustaining community events and organizations. By sponsoring these events, the firm helps ensure that they continue to thrive and provide benefits to residents and visitors alike. The firm's history of representing injured Pittsburghers for more than five decades suggests a deep connection to the region and a commitment to its well-being beyond the courtroom. Attorney Cheryl Penrod, a registered nurse before becoming a lawyer, brings clinical insight to the firm's medical malpractice cases, further demonstrating the firm's dedication to serving the community's needs.
In a time when many community organizations face funding challenges, corporate sponsorships like these can make a meaningful difference. The Fido Food Truck Fest and the Yough n Roll Bike Ride both rely on the generosity of sponsors and volunteers to succeed. Their continued success depends on ongoing support from local businesses and individuals who value the services these organizations provide. Pribanic & Pribanic's sponsorship serves as an example of how local firms can contribute to the vitality of their communities.
