Quantum BioPharma Advances LUCID-MS into Phase 2 Trials for Multiple Sclerosis

Quantum BioPharma Ltd. (NASDAQ: QNTM) (CSE: QNTM) is advancing its proprietary multiple sclerosis therapy candidate, LUCID-MS, into Phase 2 clinical development following favorable Phase 1 safety data and submission of an Investigational New Drug application to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. The company reported that Phase 1 studies in healthy volunteers demonstrated a favorable safety profile and that the therapy was generally well tolerated, supporting progression to patient-focused studies.

In April 2026, Quantum BioPharma submitted an IND to the FDA for LUCID-MS, paving the way for a planned Phase 2 clinical trial in individuals living with multiple sclerosis. LUCID-MS is designed to target demyelination and protect or restore myelin integrity, addressing the underlying mechanism of MS. The company believes the therapy may offer a differentiated, potentially first-in-class approach because it aims to directly address myelin loss and neurodegeneration, rather than relying solely on immune modulation.

To strengthen operational support for the program, Quantum BioPharma is planning a partnership with Allucent and engaging with neurological specialists. The company is dedicated to building a portfolio of innovative assets and biotech solutions for challenging neurodegenerative and metabolic disorders and alcohol misuse disorders. Through its wholly owned subsidiary, Lucid Psycheceuticals Inc., Quantum BioPharma focuses on research and development of its lead compound, Lucid-MS, a patented new chemical entity shown to prevent and reverse myelin degradation in preclinical models.

In addition to its MS program, Quantum BioPharma invented unbuzzd and spun out its OTC version to Unbuzzd Wellness Inc., led by industry veterans. Quantum BioPharma retains ownership of 19.84% of UWI and is entitled to royalty payments of 7% of sales from unbuzzd until payments total $250 million, after which the royalty drops to 3% in perpetuity. The company retains 100% of the rights to develop similar products or alternative formulations for pharmaceutical and medical uses.
