Rare 1992 Nissan Figaro Joins DFW Car & Toy Museum Collection

The DFW Car & Toy Museum has unveiled a rare 1992 Nissan Figaro as a new addition to The Ron Sturgeon Collection, freshly imported from Japan in June 2024. Originally sold only in Japan and limited to approximately 20,000 units, this retro-styled city car based on the Nissan Micra represents a cult classic that continues to captivate enthusiasts. This particular example, originally painted Emerald Green, has been resprayed in an elegant Champagne finish, maintaining its vintage appeal while presenting a unique appearance.

Under the hood, the Figaro features a turbocharged 987cc MA10ET inline-four engine rated at 75 horsepower and 78 lb-ft of torque, with power delivered to the front wheels through a three-speed automatic transaxle. The vehicle's fixed-profile convertible top provides an open-air driving experience, while the right-hand-drive cabin features Crème leather seats with green piping and a cozy two-place rear bench. With 83,000 kilometers (approximately 52,000 miles) on the odometer, this well-preserved example showcases the car's enduring charm.

The Figaro's engineering includes MacPherson strut front suspension, independent four-link rear suspension, and a lightweight chassis that delivers a refined ride for its class. Braking is handled by disc brakes in the front and drum brakes in the rear, ensuring confident stopping power. Ron Sturgeon, owner of the DFW Car & Toy Museum, described the Figaro as "a dream car for anyone who loves vintage style and clever engineering," noting its playful nature and rarity.

This acquisition highlights the growing appreciation for Japanese Domestic Market (JDM) imports and unique automotive design from the 1990s. The museum's collection continues to expand with significant vehicles that represent important moments in automotive history. Visitors can view the Figaro at the museum's North Fort Worth location, which offers free parking and admission.
