REPLOID Group AG consolidates its fertilizer business into a dedicated subsidiary, REPLOID REGREEN GmbH, to produce organic fertilizers from insect frass, targeting the Central European market with initial product launches in fall 2026.

REPLOID Group AG ("REPLOID") has announced the consolidation of its fertilizer business into a new wholly owned subsidiary, REPLOID REGREEN GmbH ("REGREEN"), based in Wels, Austria. The move positions REGREEN to produce and market organic fertilizers derived from insect frass, a nutrient-rich by-product of Black Soldier Fly larvae processing organic residues from the food industry. Managing Director Andreas Steinbüchler, who brings over 25 years of experience in the fertilizer sector, will lead the new company.
The spin-off provides a dedicated structure for REPLOID's planned entry into the fertilizer market. REGREEN's products will use insect frass sourced from REPLOID's own ReFarmUnits, modular insect-rearing plants that upcycle regional organic residues. The initial product launch is scheduled for fall 2026, featuring fertilizer sticks for potted plants, followed by a lawn fertilizer and an agricultural fertilizer for commercial farming later that year.
Europe's fertilizer market faces structural challenges, including heavy reliance on imported mineral fertilizers, tightening regulations, and soil degradation. Organic fertilizers complement mineral ones by improving nutrient efficiency, building soil organic matter, and enhancing drought resilience. This positions REGREEN to meet growing demand for locally produced, circular solutions in agriculture and horticulture.
Andreas Steinbüchler, Managing Director of REPLOID REGREEN, stated: "Europe imports fertilizer while its soils are being depleted. Neither is a viable option in the long run. With REGREEN, we are deliberately building what has been missing: a regionally produced organic fertilizer that makes soils more fertile over the long term. With a focused company within the REPLOID Group, we gain the speed and agility to successfully develop the market with innovative products."
Philip Pauer, CEO and Founder of REPLOID Group AG, commented: "With REGREEN, we are giving our fertilizer business its own, effective structure and, in Andreas Steinbüchler, a leader with many years of industry experience. This underscores that the fertilizer segment is a strategic growth pillar for us, with enormous scaling potential."
Steinbüchler's background includes over 15 years in leadership roles across sales, supply chain, and finance at LAT Nitrogen GmbH, Europe's second-largest fertilizer producer, where he served as Chief Commercial Officer from 2018 to 2023. He also served as President of the Fertilizers Europe association from 2021 to 2023.
REPLOID Group AG, founded in 2020 and headquartered in Wels, offers an innovative system for industrial utilization of regional organic residues. The company builds and services modular insect-rearing plants, supplying young black soldier fly larvae and developing site-specific feed mixes from residual materials. After rearing, customers can use the larvae or by-products, or REPLOID takes them back for centralized marketing or processing. The company has been listed on the Vienna Stock Exchange's direct market plus segment since July 2025 and employs over 190 people.
