The inaugural Salsa at Niagara Falls festival, part of the Canadian Salsa Festivals Project, will bring Latin music, dance, and culture to Niagara Falls on September 12-13, featuring free concerts, fireworks, and interactive activities, marking a significant expansion of cultural tourism in the region.

The Canadian Salsa Festivals Project (CSFP) is set to expand its reach with the inaugural Salsa at Niagara Falls, a free two-day festival taking place September 12-13, 2026, from noon to 10 p.m. daily. Presented in partnership with Niagara Falls Tourism, Niagara Parks Commission, Fallsview Casino Resort, and TLN Media Group, the event will transform the Niagara River Parkway into a vibrant celebration of Latin music, dance, and culture against the iconic backdrop of the falls.
Highlighting the weekend is a special appearance and free concert by salsa star Frankie Negrón on Sunday, September 13, at 8 p.m. The festival will feature over 300 performers across two live entertainment stages, including Juno-nominated Andy Rubal headlining Saturday's lineup, alongside award-winning Latin entertainers Yani Borrell and Aiona Santana. Attendees can participate in dedicated dance zones with non-stop lessons throughout the weekend at the Oakes Garden Theatre, featuring world-class dance performances and interactive sessions with schools from the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area, as well as local Buffalo dance schools MOVIEmiento Latin Dance Studio and Fanny Olaya.
Beyond music and dance, the festival will offer a vibrant marketplace celebrating Latin culture, with authentic cuisine and specialty vendors. Each evening at 10 p.m., a spectacular fireworks show choreographed to salsa music will light up the sky above the falls, creating an unforgettable experience.
This landmark event marks the beginning of an exciting new annual tradition that blends the energy and passion of Latin culture with one of Canada's most celebrated tourism destinations. As the newest stop in the CSFP tour, Salsa at Niagara Falls builds on more than two decades of the project's mission to bring communities together through music, dance, food, and cultural celebration.
Janice Thomson, President and CEO of Niagara Falls Tourism, expressed enthusiasm about hosting the festival, stating, "We are thrilled to welcome the Canadian Salsa Festivals Project to Niagara Falls for this inaugural event. This festival not only enriches our cultural landscape but also attracts visitors from across the region and beyond, boosting tourism and showcasing the diversity that makes our destination unique."
The festival is expected to draw thousands of attendees, providing a significant economic impact to the local community. Niagara Parks, which manages the parkway, has partnered to ensure the event aligns with its mandate to preserve and protect the natural surroundings while offering unique experiences.
