Satyadhar Joshi's Bronze Stevie Award highlights his significant contributions to making AI research and education accessible to a broad audience, underscoring the importance of open educational resources in navigating AI's societal impacts.

Satyadhar Joshi has been named the winner of a Bronze Stevie® Award in the Social Impact Leader of the Year category at The 23rd Annual International Business Awards® (IBAs). This recognition underscores Joshi's commitment to democratizing AI research and education, ensuring that critical knowledge is not confined to academic or governmental silos but is freely available to those who need it most.
The International Business Awards are widely regarded as the world's premier business awards program, attracting entries from organizations and individuals across the globe. This year, the IBAs received more than 3,400 nominations from 82 nations, with winners selected by over 200 business professionals serving on specialized judging committees. The awards span a wide range of categories, including Company of the Year, Marketing Campaign of the Year, and Executive of the Year, among others.
Joshi's work focuses on creating accessible AI research and educational resources for policymakers, educators, workforce-development professionals, researchers, and other stakeholders. His efforts address critical topics such as AI governance, workforce development, and the potential impact of artificial intelligence on employment. By providing practical, freely accessible frameworks and training materials, Joshi aims to help governments, educators, and communities navigate the opportunities and challenges of AI responsibly and inclusively.
"This recognition reinforces my belief that research should not remain behind paywalls or be limited to academic or government silos," Joshi said. "My goal is to continue developing cross-agency, cross-domain collaboration and practical, freely accessible frameworks and training materials, including online courses, open-access books, and video content."
His award nomination highlighted his engagement with government and academic institutions, as well as his publicly available educational resources. Among these are free online courses and two open-access books covering artificial intelligence, financial risk management, and workforce development. These books are distributed through more than 10 digital platforms, including Apple Books, Barnes & Noble, Kobo, and OverDrive, ensuring wide reach and accessibility.
The Bronze Stevie Award adds to Joshi's growing list of accolades. In November 2025, he received a Silver Globee® Award for Impact for his work on AI integration in education and workforce policy. In April 2026, he was named a TITAN Business Award winner in the Training category for a video-based workforce training initiative supported by research and educational content.
Stevie Awards judges evaluated Joshi's nomination based on the scope and impact of his work, particularly its accessibility to audiences beyond traditional academic settings. Judges noted the public-facing nature of his research and its potential value to policymakers, educators, and government institutions. This recognition is a testament to the importance of bridging the gap between complex AI research and practical application for societal benefit.
The winners will be celebrated at a gala event at the Pullman Paris Montparnasse on Wednesday, October 28. For more information about the 2026 International Business Awards and a complete list of category winners, visit the official International Business Awards winners page.
