SBF AG reports 2025 revenue of EUR 40.7 million and improved EBITDA of EUR 1.0 million, highlighting strategic adjustments and restructuring efforts despite market headwinds.

SBF AG (ISIN: DE000A2AAE22; WKN: A2AAE2) today published its Annual Report 2025, confirming preliminary figures that show consolidated revenue of EUR 40.7 million (2024: EUR 47.2 million), at the upper end of the forecast range of EUR 39 million to EUR 41 million. The company significantly increased EBITDA to EUR 1.0 million (2024: EUR 0.6 million), raising the EBITDA margin to 2.5% from 1.3% in the previous year.
“Our earnings performance shows that our strategic adjustments are taking us in the right direction. In an exceptionally challenging environment for the manufacturing industry, we were able to significantly improve our profitability despite restructuring-related burdens. We will continue on this path by expanding sales activities, optimizing cost structures and consistently unlocking SBF’s potential,” said Robert Stöcklinger, Member of the Management Board of SBF AG.
The development of SBF’s three business divisions was influenced by different factors in 2025. The Rolling Stock division faced market-related and project-related delays, generating revenue of EUR 18.9 million (2024: EUR 21.0 million) and EBITDA of EUR 1.8 million (2024: EUR 2.9 million). Despite attractive growth prospects, changes in customer investment behavior and supply chain issues led to project postponements.
The Public and Industrial Lighting division suffered from project-related delays in the municipal sector and restrained investment, resulting in revenue of EUR 9.8 million (2024: EUR 12.0 million) and EBITDA of EUR -1.7 million (2024: EUR -1.9 million). One-off expenses from the complete relocation of production, aimed at achieving efficiency gains from 2026 onward, negatively impacted results.
In contrast, the Sensor Technology and Electromechanics division, including AMS Software & Elektronik GmbH, generated revenue of EUR 12.7 million (2024: EUR 14.9 million) and EBITDA of EUR 1.5 million, exceeding expectations (2024: EUR -0.8 million). Progress in integration and synergies in purchasing, project management, digitalization, and production contributed to the improved performance.
SBF implemented key Group-wide measures in 2025 to strengthen its operational setup, including efficiency enhancements, optimization of production capacities, and expansion of the manufacturing facility in Ceske Budejovice, Czech Republic. These steps are intended to provide mechanical production and electronic and mechanical assembly for all divisions from a single source.
