Scarefest Scream Park Marks 20 Years as Metro Detroit's Premier Halloween Destination

Scarefest Scream Park, a family-owned 50-acre Halloween park in Lenox Township, Michigan, is celebrating its 20th anniversary season. Since its founding in 2006, the park has become a staple of Macomb County's autumn landscape, employing hundreds of local residents and supporting local charities. This milestone season continues its tradition of blending fear and fun with nightly stage entertainment, Halloween movies, roaming ghouls, photo ops, bonfires, and a heated bar tent, all while guests can use a virtual queue system to avoid waiting in line.

The park features four main haunted attractions, each offering a unique experience. The Castle of the Dead is an 8,000-square-foot haunted house that promises terrors just beyond its doors. The Hayride of Doom is a family-friendly, narrated ride that follows a researcher and their AI assistant navigating the aftermath of a viral outbreak. The Forest of Darkness is a haunted walk along the Salt River through woods inhabited by specters of death. The Terror Zone Maze is a dark maze filled with twists, strobes, 3D effects, and terror at every dead end.

Before the regular October season, Scarefest is hosting two exclusive special event weekends for adults 21 and older. Ghouls Night Out, scheduled for September 18 and 19 from 7 PM to midnight, offers a twist on 'girls night out' with a 'Sip & Shop' local artisan vendor show featuring wine tastings, mixology demonstrations, crafts, and Zumba. BBQ, Bourbon & Boos, set for September 25 and 26 from 7 PM to midnight, combines live music, local bourbon and whiskey tastings, and barbecue food selections.
