Search Minerals Inc. announced its 2026 critical rare earth element exploration program in southeastern Labrador, focusing on resource upgrades at Foxtrot, drill readiness at Fox Run, and bulk sample collection for its demonstration plant.

Search Minerals Inc. (TSX.V: SMY) (OTC: SHCMF) has announced its 2026 critical rare earth element exploration program in southeastern Labrador, with field crews scheduled to conduct channel sampling across three priority targets in the Fox Harbour Volcanic Belt. The company also plans to collect 15 tonnes of bulk sample material from the Foxtrot Deposit to support its planned demonstration plant.
The program is designed to expand and upgrade resources at the Foxtrot Deposit, advance the Fox Run prospect toward drill readiness, and extend mineralization at Awesome Fox. Additionally, the bulk sample will support larger-scale testing of Search’s patented Direct Extraction Process, a key technology for rare earth element recovery.
Interim CEO Jason Macintosh stated that the field season aims to build momentum toward production as the company advances optimization studies and environmental baseline work across its properties. The Fox Harbour Volcanic Belt is known for hosting critical rare earth elements, and Search controls a 64-kilometer-long by 2-kilometer-wide belt that is road accessible, on tidewater, and near three local communities.
Search has previously completed a preliminary economic assessment with resource estimates for Foxtrot and Deep Fox. The company is also exploring four other prospects along the belt: Fox Meadow, Silver Fox, Fox Run, and Awesome Fox. The patented Direct Extraction Process has been optimized with support from the Department of Energy and Mines, Government of Newfoundland and Labrador, and the Atlantic Canada Opportunity Agency. Two pilot plant operations have already produced highly purified mixed rare earth carbonate concentrate and mixed REO concentrate.
