Search Minerals Receives Provincial Grant to Advance Rare Earth Exploration in Labrador

Search Minerals Inc. (TSX.V: SMY) (OTC: SHCMF) has been awarded a $91,000 grant from the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador under the Mineral Incentive Program’s Junior Exploration Assistance Program. This funding supports the company's 2025 exploration activities in the Port Hope Simpson–St. Lewis critical rare earth element district in southeastern Labrador. The grant aids programs such as the Fox Run 2025 channel sampling initiative, which is further defining high-grade mineralization across the 63-kilometer belt. This exploration work is crucial as the company advances key targets including Deep Fox and Foxtrot toward potential production.

The significance of this funding extends beyond Search Minerals' immediate exploration activities. It represents a strategic investment in developing a North American rare earth supply chain at a time when global demand for critical minerals is increasing. Rare earth elements are essential components in various technologies, including electric vehicles, renewable energy systems, and defense applications. Currently, China dominates the global rare earth market, creating supply chain vulnerabilities for Western nations. The development of domestic sources like those in Labrador could reduce dependence on foreign suppliers and enhance North American economic security.

Search Minerals has been working to optimize its patented Direct Extraction Process technology with support from the Department of Energy and Mines, Government of Newfoundland and Labrador, and from the Atlantic Canada Opportunity Agency. The company has completed two pilot plant operations and produced highly purified mixed rare earth carbonate concentrate and mixed REO concentrate for separation and refining. This technological advancement, combined with continued exploration, positions the company to potentially contribute to a more resilient North American critical minerals supply chain.

The company controls a belt 64 km long and 2 km wide that is road accessible, on tidewater, and located near three local communities. Search has completed a preliminary economic assessment report with resource estimates for FOXTROT and DEEP FOX. The company is also working on four exploration prospects along the belt which include: FOX MEADOW, SILVER FOX, FOX RUN and AWESOME FOX.
