SolarBank Advances Renewable Energy Expansion with New York Community Solar Project

SolarBank Corp. is moving forward with a significant solar energy initiative in upstate New York, marking another step in the company's renewable energy development strategy. The Forest Hill Rd project, a 4.584 megawatt DC ground-mount solar installation, is positioned to generate clean energy for approximately 540 homes while participating in New York's innovative community solar program.

The project represents a strategic expansion of SolarBank's renewable energy portfolio, utilizing the state's Value of Distributed Energy Resources (VDER) compensation framework and New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) incentives. By participating in these state-level renewable energy programs, the company is contributing to broader clean energy goals while creating potential economic benefits for local communities.

Under the community solar model, the project will allow multiple households and businesses to benefit from solar energy generation without requiring individual rooftop installations. SolarBank has secured the site lease and is currently conducting an interconnection study, which will determine the project's feasibility for grid integration.
