A community estate sale on June 13, 2026, will benefit the Sonoma County Tool Library, which is undergoing modernization under Executive Director Martin Reed to improve tool lending access for residents.

The Sonoma County Tool Library, a nonprofit lending library that enables residents to borrow tools instead of purchasing them, will receive proceeds from a community estate sale on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at 595 Hwy 116 N in Sebastopol. The event is part of a broader modernization and outreach effort for the organization, which is located at 427 Mendocino Ave inside coLAB in Santa Rosa and serves communities including Santa Rosa, Sebastopol, Graton, Forestville, and the broader West County.
Martin Reed, a West Sonoma County real estate agent with eXp Realty and Executive Director of the Tool Library, is leading infrastructure improvements, volunteer and donor recruitment, and public awareness campaigns to make the library more accessible. The modernization includes a rebuilt public website at https://borrowtools.org, a migrated membership and lending system with 2,858 borrower records, and a developing partnership with the Sonoma County Library. The organization is also recruiting board members, volunteers, and donors to strengthen its role as a community resource for home repair, property upkeep, fire-wise maintenance, and sustainability.
“The Tool Library is a practical, neighbor-to-neighbor resource,” Reed said. “It helps people take care of their homes, gardens, repairs, and projects without having to buy every tool themselves. This Saturday's estate sale gives the community a simple way to pitch in, and every dollar goes back into keeping tools available to Sonoma County residents who need them.”
For homeowners, renters, gardeners, DIYers, and residents managing seasonal maintenance or fire-wise property upkeep, the Tool Library offers an alternative to purchasing tools for single-use projects. By sharing tools through a nonprofit lending model, the organization supports affordability and sustainable resource use. The June 13 estate sale provides an opportunity for residents to directly support the Tool Library while participating in a local community event. Sale hours and additional details will be announced by the organization.
