Spasticity & Movement Partners, a specialty rehabilitation practice founded by Dr. David Park, has announced its recent opening in Englewood, New Jersey. The practice, located at 15 Engle St, Suite 106, aims to provide focused, compassionate, and evidence-based care for individuals living with spasticity and complex movement challenges.
Spasticity can significantly impact daily life, affecting activities such as walking, dressing, hygiene, and sleep. It can also place a burden on caregivers. Spasticity & Movement Partners was created to help patients understand their condition and explore treatment options that can improve mobility and quality of life. The practice offers comprehensive evaluations, advanced treatments, and coordinated rehabilitation planning in a supportive environment.
Dr. David Park, a board-certified physiatrist, leads the practice. He earned his medical degree from Boston University's accelerated BA/MD program, completed his residency in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at Tufts Medical Center, where he served as chief resident, and pursued fellowship training in pain management in Manhattan. His approach combines medical expertise with patient education and functional improvement.
“Spasticity care should never be one-size-fits-all,” said Dr. Park. “Every patient has a different story, different challenges, and different goals. My vision for this practice was to create a place where patients and caregivers receive clear answers, thoughtful treatment options, and a plan built around what matters most to them.”
The practice offers comprehensive spasticity assessments, including neurologic and musculoskeletal evaluation, range of motion testing, gait analysis, and goal setting. Treatment options include oral medications such as baclofen, tizanidine, and diazepam, as well as targeted procedures like botulinum toxin injections (Botox, Dysport, Xeomin, Myobloc), phenol nerve blocks, and diagnostic nerve blocks. These procedures may be performed using ultrasound or electromyography guidance for precision. For severe spasticity, the practice provides intrathecal baclofen pump management, including refills and dose adjustments.
A key feature of the practice is its commitment to multidisciplinary collaboration. Spasticity & Movement Partners works with physical therapists, occupational therapists, neurologists, primary care physicians, and other specialists to ensure coordinated care. The practice also focuses on measurable progress, tracking goals such as improved walking distance, safer transfers, reduced pain, and easier daily care.
Caregivers are recognized as essential partners. The practice offers education, practical guidance, and a collaborative model that respects the caregiver's perspective, aiming to improve communication and create treatment plans that fit home life.
Spasticity & Movement Partners enters the Northern New Jersey healthcare market with a vision to become a trusted leader in spasticity-focused rehabilitation. For more information, visit www.spasticitymp.com.
