SS Innovations' SSi Mantra Surgical Robotic System Gains Telesurgery Approvals in Indonesia and Philippines, Surpasses 150 Procedures

The SSi Mantra surgical robotic system from SS Innovations International has received regulatory approval for telesurgeries in Indonesia and the Philippines, expanding the geographic reach of remote surgical procedures. This development coincides with the company surpassing 150 cumulative telesurgeries performed primarily in India, demonstrating growing clinical adoption of the technology. The approvals represent a strategic expansion into Southeast Asian markets where access to specialized surgical expertise remains limited in many regions.

Recent clinical demonstrations highlight the system's capabilities, including an eight-hour session on February 14, 2026, during which 18 inter-hospital telesurgeries were performed between two Indian cities. These included 13 gastric bypass procedures conducted by Dr. Mohit Bhandari from Mohak Bariatrics and Robotics in Indore and 5 complex gynecological surgeries performed by Dr. Priya Bhave Chittawar from HER Health Hospital in Bhopal. All procedures utilized the SSi MantrAsana Tele Surgeon Console, a portable chair-based version of the larger command center that enables telesurgeries from various settings including physician offices.

This achievement follows a December 23, 2025, robotic telesurgery marathon during which nine surgeons performed 24 telesurgeries within 12 hours on patients across multiple Indian locations. The procedures encompassed ten different types of surgeries, including intricate cardiac operations.
