Standard Lithium Secures $225M DOE Grant, Advances Southwest Arkansas Lithium Project

Standard Lithium has marked substantial milestones in its Southwest Arkansas lithium project, receiving a $225 million grant from the U.S. Department of Energy and securing unanimous approval for its first brine production unit. The project, now designated a priority under Executive Order 14241, aims to boost American mineral production and strengthen domestic lithium supply chains.

In partnership with Equinor, the newly branded Smackover Lithium joint venture has completed final field-pilot testing, achieving an unprecedented lithium recovery rate of over 99%. This breakthrough demonstrates the project's potential for efficient and sustainable lithium extraction from brine resources in the Smackover Formation.

The company's financial position remains strong, with $31.6 million in cash reserves and no outstanding debt. Standard Lithium is strategically positioned to advance further permitting and royalty approvals in the second quarter of 2025, potentially accelerating the path to commercial lithium production.
