TBC Uzbekistan Expands Digital Ecosystem with Launch of Fully Digital Insurance

TBC Uzbekistan has officially launched TBC Insurance, a fully digital insurance service, as part of its strategy to expand its digital banking ecosystem in Central Asia. This new offering, accessible through the TBC UZ banking app, aims to revolutionize the insurance experience for users in Uzbekistan by providing a seamless and entirely digital process. Initially focusing on credit life insurance, TBC Insurance plans to extend its services to include a comprehensive range of personal insurance products.

The introduction of TBC Insurance follows its soft launch in April 2025, after securing a life insurance license from the National Agency of Perspective Projects of Uzbekistan. The service has already demonstrated significant consumer demand, with over 140,000 policies issued to date. Leading this initiative is Ekaterina Lotuashvili, whose extensive experience in the insurance sector spans 25 years across the UK and Georgia, including a tenure at Lloyd’s of London.

This expansion is part of TBC Uzbekistan's broader effort to diversify its product offerings and solidify its position as Central Asia's premier digital banking ecosystem. The company has seen remarkable growth, with its user base now exceeding half of Uzbekistan's population and its revenue and loan book doubling in the first quarter of 2025. Recent product launches, such as the Salom debit card, Osmon credit card, and SME banking services, have further enriched its ecosystem, fostering deeper customer engagement.

Nika Kurdiani, CEO of TBC Uzbekistan, emphasized the strategic importance of insurance within the ecosystem, stating it empowers customers by enhancing their financial security and control. This move underscores TBC Uzbekistan's commitment to expanding its digital services in a way that complements existing offerings and maximizes value for its customers.
