The Dog Stop Expands to New Jersey with New Franchise Location

The Dog Stop, an award-winning dog care brand, is set to open its first New Jersey location in Long Hill, marking a significant expansion for the franchise. The new facility, located at 977 Valley Rd, Gillette, NJ 07933, is scheduled to open in late August, with a grand opening celebration planned for September 27. This event will feature a ribbon-cutting ceremony with the local Chamber of Commerce, food trucks, and treats for dogs.

Leading the Long Hill location are Rob Lax and David Weinberg, longtime friends who have turned their passion for dogs into a business venture. Lax brings over 25 years of experience in dog training, particularly with guide dogs for the blind through The Seeing Eye in Morristown. Weinberg, with a background in media and sports law, complements Lax's expertise with his own passion for dogs and a desire to engage in a purpose-driven business.

The Long Hill location will span 10,000 square feet, offering a full range of services including luxury boarding, daycare, training, grooming, and retail. The franchisees plan to expand to at least three locations in the region and are committed to supporting the local community, including sponsoring the Long Hill Education Foundation.
