The Storm Windows Release New Live Single 'There's a Reason for Saturday Nights'

Paper Garden Records recording artists The Storm Windows have released a new single, "There's a Reason for Saturday Nights," from their forthcoming LIVE album. The track was recorded live on November 1, 2025, at Tank Studio in Burlington, Vermont, before an enthusiastic audience.

The Storm Windows, known as purveyors of "Power-Folk," have been described by Spin Magazine as the "Folk Ramones" for their high-energy live performances. The trio—Rob Mathews on guitar and vocals, Don Mathews on upright bass and vocals, and Erik Anderson on drums—delivers a sound that critics have labeled "New Americana – a blend of folk, rock and even jazz laced sonics."

This single is the first release on the PGRoots label and portends the upcoming full live album scheduled for release on August 21. Audio for the track was produced and mixed by Ben Collett and Julia Rangel at Tank Recording Studios. Fans can pre-stream the single now at this link.

The band takes their name from a song title by musical hero John Prine, reflecting veteran musicians who have weathered storms and are still standing and singing about it.
