Trilogy Metals Launches 2026 Field Program at Alaska Critical Minerals District

Trilogy Metals Inc. (NYSE American: TMQ) (TSX: TMQ) announced the start of its 2026 summer exploration program at the Upper Kobuk Mineral Projects in Alaska’s Ambler Mining District. The fully funded program is focused on advancing the high-grade Arctic copper-zinc-lead-gold-silver project toward a future construction decision while supporting regional exploration planning across the district’s 100-kilometer volcanogenic massive sulfide belt.

Trilogy said Ambler Metals, its 50/50 joint venture with South32, plans to complete approximately 40 drill holes during the field season, including at least 5,400 meters of drilling to support mine design, permitting and exploration activities at the Arctic Project. The company also announced the appointment of Ron Rimelman as president of Ambler Metals, where he will lead permitting, exploration and development efforts across the Arctic and Bornite projects as the joint venture advances toward future development decisions. The Upper Kobuk Mineral Projects are located within the Ambler Mining District, one of the richest and most-prospective known copper-dominant districts in the world. It hosts polymetallic VMS deposits containing copper, zinc, lead, gold and silver, and carbonate replacement deposits with high-grade copper and cobalt mineralization. Exploration efforts have been focused on two deposits: the Arctic VMS deposit and the Bornite carbonate replacement deposit, both within a land package spanning approximately 190,929 hectares.

Ambler Metals has an agreement with NANA Regional Corporation, Inc., an Alaska Native Corporation, providing a framework for exploration and potential development in cooperation with local communities. Trilogy Metals’ vision is to develop the Ambler Mining District into a premier North American copper producer while protecting subsistence livelihoods. This announcement underscores the strategic importance of domestic critical mineral supply chains, as copper, zinc, and other metals are essential for renewable energy, electric vehicles, and national security.

The appointment of Ron Rimelman is expected to accelerate permitting and stakeholder engagement, critical milestones as the project advances. With drilling already underway, the 2026 program represents a significant step toward de-risking the Arctic project and positioning it for a future construction decision.
