Trollinger Law Honors Local First Responders with 2025 Hometown Heroes Awards

Trollinger Law LLC has announced the recipients of its 2025 Hometown Heroes Awards, celebrating the outstanding contributions of local first responders to public safety and community welfare in Southern Maryland. This year's honorees include Retired Sgt. Gus Proctor, Lt. Everett West, and Carl Schinner, each recognized for their dedication beyond the call of duty.

Retired Sgt. Gus Proctor, with 30 years in law enforcement, has significantly impacted the community through his work with the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Maryland and various boards, raising over $1.1 million for athletes. Lt. Everett West, a Marine Corps veteran, has initiated programs like the Kids and Cruisers Car Show and Shop With a Cop, fostering community connections. Carl Schinner, with nearly 40 years in law enforcement, has led initiatives such as Operation Prevent Porch Piracy and advocated for inclusive policing.

The awards highlight the profound impact these individuals have made, not only in their professional roles but also through their voluntary community service. Their efforts exemplify the spirit of leadership and responsibility, setting a benchmark for public service. The winners will be honored at DC United games and during Trollinger Law's First Responders Night at the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs game on September 13.
