Troy Smith Leads Buckeyes in Inaugural World Series of Cornhole to Support Mental Health Initiatives

Troy Smith, Heisman Trophy winner and Ohio State football legend, is bringing together fellow Buckeye greats and Texas Longhorn icons for the inaugural World Series of Cornhole and Legend Shootout Tournament. This unique event represents a significant shift in how former athletes can leverage their platform for meaningful causes beyond their playing careers. Smith emphasized that while the competition is lighthearted, it serves a deeper purpose of addressing mental health challenges that athletes face.

The event directly supports mental health initiatives and youth foundations through its charitable components. Smith explained, "Mental health is just as important as physical health. If our mental health isn't where it needs to be, the days can pile up, leading to stress, anxiety, or worse." Proceeds from the event benefit player-driven foundations including Troy Smith's mental health initiatives, the Vince Young Foundation, the Ted Ginn Jr. Foundation, and Ricky Williams' programs through raffles and auctions organized by Cowboy Auctioneer Heath Hale.
