UGI to Begin System Upgrades in Lancaster City and Township on May 11

UGI Utilities announced it will begin a system upgrades project in the City of Lancaster and Lancaster Township on Monday, May 11, 2026. The work is part of UGI’s commitment to provide safe and reliable service and is an opportunity for some homes and businesses along the project route to convert to natural gas. The announcement was made on May 8, 2026.

The upgrades are expected to improve the infrastructure's resilience and ensure continued dependable service for customers in the area. As part of the project, UGI will replace aging pipelines and install new equipment to modernize the system. Residents and businesses along the route may also have the chance to connect to natural gas, which can offer cost savings and environmental benefits compared to other fuels.
