UGI Utilities Announces System Upgrades in Bethlehem to Enhance Service Reliability

UGI Utilities is scheduled to begin system upgrades in Bethlehem on July 9, as part of its ongoing commitment to ensuring safe and reliable service. The project includes the replacement of a gas main, which will affect several streets, including West Graham Place between Brodhead Avenue and Vine Street, Vine Street between West Graham Place and West Morton Street, and Rink Street between Broadhead Avenue and Vine Street. Construction will take place from 7am to 5pm, Monday through Friday, with parking restrictions in effect during these hours. Some interruptions to natural gas service are expected, necessitating UGI's access to properties for equipment inspection and relighting.

The underground work is anticipated to be completed by early August, though weather and working conditions may cause delays. Final paving and restoration will follow. This initiative not only aims to upgrade the infrastructure but also presents an opportunity for eligible homes and businesses along the project route to convert to natural gas, potentially offering them a more efficient energy solution.
