Utah Life Sciences Startups Prepare to Pitch at 2025 Entrepreneur & Investor Summit

Twelve promising life sciences startups from Utah will compete for investor attention and potential funding at the 2025 Entrepreneur & Investor Life Sciences Summit, demonstrating the state's growing significance in biomedical innovation. Selected from a pool of 37 applicants, these companies represent cutting-edge advancements across medical devices, diagnostics, therapeutics, pharmaceuticals, and digital health technologies.

The competition, sponsored by Wilson Sonsini and organized by BioUtah and the University of Utah's Technology Licensing Office, will provide entrepreneurs a critical platform to present their breakthrough technologies to national and local investors. Participants will be evaluated on product uniqueness, commercialization potential, and management quality.

The selected startups are strategically grouped into four categories: Medical Device/Diagnostics (two groups), Therapeutics/Pharmaceuticals, and Digital Health/Biotechnology. Companies such as Evolution Bio, Neuropharma, and Microvascular Therapeutics represent the diverse range of innovative solutions emerging from Utah's research ecosystem.

BioUtah President Kelvyn Cullimore emphasized the competition's significance, noting that it provides investors direct access to promising startups developing potential treatments and cures. Bruce Hunter, chief innovation officer for the University of Utah, highlighted the event's role in connecting emerging technologies with essential resources and expertise.

The summit, to be held March 13 at the Sheraton Hotel in Salt Lake City, will culminate in a ceremony announcing competition winners, who will receive cash awards. The event underscores Utah's growing reputation as a hub for life sciences research and commercialization, demonstrating the state's commitment to translating scientific discoveries into tangible healthcare solutions.
