Verizon begins preorders for Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold8 and Z Fold8 Ultra, offering them on its no-tiers Simplicity Plan with discounts up to $1,100 with trade-in, aiming to attract customers with straightforward pricing and premium device access.

Starting today, customers can preorder Samsung's latest foldable smartphones, the Galaxy Z Fold8 and Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, exclusively on Verizon's Simplicity Plan and My Biz Plan. The announcement, made by Verizon on July 22, 2026, highlights a strategic move to pair innovative folding technology with a simplified pricing structure that eliminates network tiers and offers full device freedom.
The Galaxy Z Fold8, priced at $1,899.99, is available in Lavender, Graphite, and Cream, while the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra starts at $2,099.99 in Violet Shadow, Graphite, and Cream. Alongside the phones, Verizon is also launching the Galaxy Watch9 ($429.99) and Galaxy Watch Ultra2 ($699.99). Preorders are open now at Verizon stores, verizon.com, and the My Verizon app, with full retail availability on August 7.
Verizon's Simplicity Plan is central to the offer, designed to remove carrier complexity. New customers can get the Galaxy Z Fold8 (256GB) for as low as $60 a month for 48 months, which includes a $30 monthly device payment after a $460 promotional credit and a $30 monthly plan rate. To achieve the $30 plan rate, customers must open a new line, enroll in Auto Pay and paper-free billing (saving $10), and switch their number from another carrier (saving $15). Similarly, the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra can be obtained for $35 a month after a $420 promotional credit over 48 months, with similar eligibility requirements.
For existing customers looking to upgrade, Verizon offers up to $1,100 off either new foldable with a qualifying trade-in on an Unlimited Plus or Unlimited Ultimate plan, with credits applied over 36 months. The trade-in device must be active on the account for at least 60 days prior.
Verizon is also promoting an "Ultimate Bundle" that includes a new Galaxy Watch9 and Galaxy Tab S10 FE at no additional hardware cost when purchasing a new Samsung phone on a payment plan or bringing your own phone with a new line. Customers add a service line for each device starting at $15 a month, and Verizon applies up to $650 in promotional credits per device over 36 months.
Additional incentives include a limited-time offer for Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+ (With Ads) for six months on us for customers who purchase a Z Fold8 or Z Fold8 Ultra on Simplicity or myPlan. The loyalty program also rewards customers with Verizon Dollars monthly, and Verizon Shine offers weekly chances to win experiences.
The move underscores Verizon's strategy to attract customers with transparent pricing and high-value bundles, leveraging Samsung's latest foldable technology to drive adoption of its simplified plans. By eliminating tiers and offering aggressive trade-in values, Verizon aims to reduce friction in the purchasing process and encourage upgrades. The combination of premium devices and straightforward pricing could reshape consumer expectations for carrier plans, potentially pressuring competitors to simplify their own offerings.
