Victoria Gunawan Joins Creative Team for Short Film "Tomorrow, We Shall Bloom"

Victoria Gunawan has been announced as the writer for the short film "Tomorrow, We Shall Bloom," directed by Cedric Christophorus. The film, set to explore themes of identity, faith, and community within the Indonesian queer diaspora in the United States, will benefit from Gunawan's expertise in crafting authentic narratives. Her role includes developing the treatment, drafting the script, and finalizing the shooting script, with production scheduled from June 2025 through January 2026.

"Tomorrow, We Shall Bloom" employs mixed media to document the personal and collective journey of a queer Indonesian filmmaker and his community, addressing issues of religious shame and cultural silence. Gunawan's collaboration with Christophorus, known for his innovative approach to themes of race and immigration, promises to bring a unique perspective to the film. The project aims to reach international audiences through film festivals and distribution partnerships, amplifying its message of freedom and acceptance.
