Franc Cinelli releases “Field Recordings / In Dreams” — A Meditative Journey Through Ambient Folk Landscapes

Composer and recording artist Franc Cinelli announces the release of Field Recordings / In Dreams, a new instrumental album that blends the organic textures of folk music with the immersive atmosphere of ambient soundscapes.

Field Recordings / In Dreams is a collection of instrumental pieces that live somewhere between folk, ambient, and memory. Built from quiet acoustic guitar, subtle textures, and fragments of field recordings, these tracks drift through inner and outer landscapes. This album is for stillness, reflection, the in-between hours and to provide a soundtrack for the listeners’ experience.

“I set out to make something that felt familiar but at the same time lived in an unfamiliar setting. I see both folk & ambient music as storytellers and great consolers. Making this music was me trying to find some understanding from the madness. News feeds that feel more like science fiction than ever before. It’s hard to make sense of a reality that feels so distant. So this album is a kind of diary of places and feelings that exist somewhere between the external world and the inner one," says Franc Cinelli. "It’s music made to accompany. Not just stillness & wandering thoughts, and the quieter hours of the day. I wanted to the music to put listener in the spotlight…and let it be a soundtrack to their experience.”

Hailing from Rome, the London-based singer/songwriter, long ago dedicated himself to capturing slices of life in song. It’s a commitment he’s embraced through albums that have built upon on another in sound and style and endeavoured to tell stories that transcend time and place. Alongside his work as touring recording artist, Franc composes music for independent filmmakers.
